Looking for an easy and yummy after-school snack for your kids? Scotty would like to share with you his favorite…Nachos! I thought it would be appropriate for him to actually write the post for our Kids in the Kitchen finale! Be sure to scroll to the bottom for more pictures. I’ll let him take it from here…..
Nachos are a snack that is yummier than candy but is healthier and has NO added sugar. They are good to make anytime, anywhere. This cheesy deliciousness has cheese, of course, and the beans just make it better. No matter who or how old you are, it is simply easy.
Scotty’s Nachos
Ingredients:
Serves one 9-year old boy 🙂
- 15-20 tortilla chips
- 1/3 cup of refried beans
- 1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
- First, get a microwavable plate.
- Next, put the chips on your plate.
- Spread the beans evenly over your chips.
- Do the same with the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Microwave it all for 45 seconds-1 minute (put a paper towel over it in the microwave or else the beans will pop!!!)
- ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Remember to share a couple with your mom! (Okay, this is Gena again! I always have to sneak a couple of Scotty’s yummy nachos!)
Thanks Scotty for sharing your favorite after-school snack with us AND for blogging about it! I’ll add in one more thing…and that is to feel free to load up your nachos with your favorite toppings. This is just a kid-friendly, quick and easy snack that was 100% created by Scotty, including the idea. 🙂
I hope you’ve enjoyed this week of Kids in the Kitchen!
Happy Cooking!
