Here’s a quick weekday meal or a great way to use up leftover ham.
This yummy and healthy crock pot split pea and ham soup is made in the crockpot, making it so easy.

Crock Pot Split Pea and Ham Soup
Ingredients:
- 1bag (1 lb) yellow or green split peas, rinsed
- 1 cup julienne-cut carrots (from 10-oz bag) or 3 carrots, diced
- 3 celery stalks, sliced
- 1/2 lb cooked ham, chopped (1 1/3 cups)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- 1 t. fresh or dried marjoram (optional)
- 32 oz chicken broth (4 cups)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 t. sea salt
- sour cream for garnish
- fresh marjoram for garnish (optional)
Directions:
- In 3- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients.
- Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours or high for 5 hours. Stir well.
- Garnish with a dalop of sour cream and a sprinkle of fresh marjoram. Serve with rustic bread.
